Known as “schizzato” in Italy, splatterware comes from humble origins. This centuries-old technique was used to easily add a splash of color to everyday earthenware which was otherwise unadorned. Adriatico is our first custom colorway in collaboration with IVO Angel and artisan Giulio Lucarini, featuring duo-tone mare and celeste blues, a combination of where the Adriatic sea and sky meet. Each piece his handmade in Cortona, Italy.

Giulio Lucarini
One of Cortona’s historical artisans, Giulio Lucarini is a ceramicist whose journey with clay began when he was 18 years old. Giulio’s traditional techniques and approach to making ceramics is what makes his work so special and enduring.
